Turkey burgers

 Serves 4 

Preparation & cooking time 20 mins 


  • 500g of lean 100 % mince turkey meat / breast 
  • 3 springs onions 
  •  2 sweet plum or cherry tomatoes 
  • A few sprigs of fresh thyme  
  • Salt and pepper – season to taste / but remember not too much salt 
  • Wheat / gluten free buns 
  • Rapeseed or sunflower oil 


  • Place the meat into a bowl, add the fresh thyme and season the mince with salt and pepper 
  • Mix everything together and then form the meat into 4 equal size patties. 
  • Chop the spring onions and pan fry them with a little of bit oil and water and cook until soft. (keep to one side) 
  • Heat up the grill pan to a medium heat 
  • Rub a little oil all over the patties – it is best to put oil on the meat rather on the grill 
  • Place the patties on the grill and cook for 6 to 8 mins on both sides 
  • Place the chopped tomatoes on the same pan and cook them for 1 min on each side 
  • Plate up – placing the spring onions and tomatoes on the meat 
  • You can toast your buns if that’s how you like them. 
  • If you can add a little mustard and low fat mayonnaise if you feel confident with your digestion but not too much
